History repeats...As tragedy, then as farce.

Yes, history repeats itself

The quote by Karl Mark can be rephrased as :humans repeat history. History does not repeat itself, human beings do.

What we sow, we reap!
When we act in a certain manner, we get specific results. This is an iron law of Nature. The fact that we keep getting the same results is proof that we are doing the same things over and over: that is, reacting in the same ways. This is quite a challenge, as the whole aim of life is to mature, improve  and get better through experiences. If we keep repeating the same experiences, that means we have not learnt from what  has gone past.  A student that keeps failing the same examination can not advance, in fact has not really advanced beyond that class, no matter how long she stays there.

That is the tragedy of humanity as at today. All our long years of sad and difficult history has had little impact in growing our maturity. Aggression  and Greed still reign strong
In hearts, just to take two examples of common traits of immaturity.

Cave man mentality
Today we still see the caveman mentality in our interactions.  In interpersonal relations relations, and unfortunately,  in international  relations. Might is right: if I have a bigger cudgel than you, then I am entitled to your hoard of raw meat and some shinning stones kept in your cave. We still use this logic everywhere.

Today, technology has advanced so well that it is possible, if we wish, to eliminate repetition  of some of the darker aspects of our history. Wars could become a thing of the past, for instance. But wars have continued.

While Slave  trade was justifiably denounced ( after some three hundred years) as inhuman and a crime against humanity. And it was abolished. But that sad manifestation of cruelty and inhumanity  to man is today repeated in various subtle ways. Various strategies are devised to make some part of humanity to work for others at a low or no pay at all.

Technology has advanced,  but the human being has not. This means we have not learnt our lessons from the past  as we keep repeating what has gone past. And we say history repeats itself. Not true.

We repeat reactions, attitudes...
We repeat events of history because our choices have remained the same over the centuries. The petty jealousies  and secret diplomatic maneuvers that led to the First World War should have convinced statesmen  and politicians in Europe of the futility of an international  system based on selfishness and cheating. But no. We repeated the same errors just 20 years later, with the 1939 outbreak  of the Second World War.

Saddam  was created and nurtured by some powers maybe as  counterweight to some forces in the Middle East. But this shortsightedness gave rise to the first and the second Gulf wars of the  two President Bushes.

History is NOT bound to repeat.  But it will continue to do so until Man  learns to make different choices from the same set of events. Whatever manifests as history is clearly a result of our choices. To change the manifestation,  we simply need to change our choices, and history will stop repeating itself, neither as tragedy, nor farce,

How long would it be?

How long indeed?

Oh yes, how long would it be, how long would it have to be, before Humanity learns her lessons?

We have enough information already...

The information we have today about our planet and ourselves should be enough for sentient beings that we claim  to be to develop a proper paradigm for all in living out our few years on this planet earth.

For centuries, mystics have been telling us that our universe is composed of several layers of unseen matter,  with our physical, visible universe  being the last ramifications.

Some scientific research has also been telling us that it is possible what is unseen in the universe  is much more than what we are seeing. Enough scientific research exists today that suggest  quite strongly that physical death as we know it, is not the end of existence.

With our research  too, we know the best things to eat, the best way to live, the best types of energy that we should promote. Dirty energy for instance obviously have no future. The sun represents an inexhaustible source of energy for the earth,  since the sun is predicted to outlive planet earth.

Wars can not be won...
We also know, that a nuclear war is unwinnable, as even those who win will not enjoy the aftermath. So also are any large scale wars like the two world wars. And to constantly waste the resources of the planet spending billions yearly to  develop weaponry  to prosecute small wars like Iraq, Afghanistan, War on terror etc, is unjustifiable.

All are 'trapped' on planet earth
Finally,  in a manner of speaking, we all, all of humanity, are trapped on our planet earth, a rather insignificant speck of dust floating aimlessly round and round the sun as part of nine  planetary bodies which we call the solar system. The solar system itself moving around the centre of our milky way galaxy: merely one of billions of galaxies in a physical  universe of unimaginable  size. Our planet seem of little importance, except that we live there. It is not easy to separate ourselves one from the other on our planet, as we seem intent on doing, by creating petty divisions. The  earth is a spaceship with all of us in it, which can not, and even dare not leave it's orbit.

No one can expect to be satisfied while fellow prisoners in the spaceship are unsatisfied. . What logic should tell us therefore is that we should develop a system that will have love,  cooperation and sustainability  as its bedrock. The kaleidoscopic variety of nations and selfish narrow interests is therefore obsolete  in its being unsustainable  for the long haul.

New paradigms necessary, new ideas imperative...
The UN, but more importantly  the developed countries  should by now be laying  a foundation for a new world.  Not continuing  on petty rat races to control the resources of the rest of the world, or attempt to waste so much resources on defense, a quaint concept given that no country can be an oasis of prosperity  and peace if surrounded  by a desert of chaos. As of today, our scientific research about the world, our knowledge  of ourselves, and physical matter,  analysed  in the context of world history, should dictate, by iron logic of survival, different roads from the ones we are taking now, as a specie.

We have been living a negative life...
Lessons that we can learn from what humanity and his planet has gone through since man stepped foot on the earth is that we have been living the wrong way, and this way is headed for a cataclysmic or a silent end of humanity. Unless we change. The dinosaurs, who ruled the planet for millions of years, did not live in nearly such a dangerous  manner as humanity is doing today.  But despite enduring for millions of years, dinosaur became history.

We have the edge...
Man has the advantage over other creatures, of being able to survey the history of the planet, evolution of life on it, and the arrival of man as the most disruptive specie in earth's history. This should allow us reexamine our delinquent  ways and make amends.

If our leaders everywhere would listen,  Humanity today can and should be a less violent group, we should reduce our careless consumption, reduce competition  for plundering of the resources of the earth and organize our production into clusters with competitive  advantage as criteria, and aim at a cooperation  among peoples,  creatures and flora and fauna of the earth   for the good of all.

Then we can discover our purpose on spaceship earth
If we today turn a genuine new leaf, then,  perhaps then, we  can begin to see clearly enough to attempt to understand  the real reasons we are on this planet. For now, destructive competition and mindless pursuit of material glitter is not allowing us understand  what we are doing here. Certainly  we can not be on this earth  merely to simply be born, consume, reproduce and die?

We should put our experiences together, analyze it, turn a new leaf, and then go further  to discover the purpose  of man on earth.

And time seem to be running out!

What we see around us is mind stuff!

Our physical reality is actually built up of malleable mind stuff!

We have been told by quantum physicists that our physical reality is actually not solid at all, but made up of stuff that can act as a wave, or also act as a particle.

When it acts as a wave or as a particle depends on what it is to manifest. We have further been told with experiments that our mind, our thinking, can, and do influence what is manifested as our apparently solid, concrete reality.

If this is so, and it is so, since mystics have been saying the same thing for thousands of years before science finally caught up with them in the knowledge, then the positive possibilities are immense.

It means whatever we want can be realized in physical reality.  It also means whatever can be imagined can become physical reality, since whatever is created in imagination is already a reality at that realm. It is therefore a matter of time before the same thing becomes physical reality.

What this means in all clarity is that the conditions on our planet today correspond exactly with the nature and quality of our thoughts, at least a majority of us. It also simultaneously means we can change our present reality for the better.

If we agree that we are responsible for what exists around us as physical reality, then the solution is out there: we should create exactly what we want using the same mechanism by which they were created: our thoughts.

Therefore,  the place to start repairing our world is through our thoughts. Let us all engage in pure and good thoughts, about ourselves, about others,  and about our planet home. This is simple enough, can be done anywhere at any time, and no one is excluded or placed at a disadvantage.  All can participate.  No money or academic degrees are required, nor is there any racial or gender barrier.

From this, every good thing we desire will become reality with the same mathematical exactitude as the present  multiple chaos.

Surely, this is not too difficult?

Surely, there is something more? we can do better?

There must be something more!

I refuse to agree that all there is to being human is what we see around us.

Sometimes, as in the above picture, above, we may see glimpses of the joy and happiness that CAN exist in our world, with young and old of different races having fun without any self consciousness.

But this is only rarely so.

Around us is the most atrocious collection of villainy and stupidity that you can think of. Whatever evil is imaginable,  is already around us not as imagination,  but reality.

Cruelty not seen among animals, illogicallity,  stupidity, unwarranted wickedness, and oppression of the weak by the strong is what has become the lot of humanity,. Listen to the news on any of the major news networks- Al Jazeera,  CNN, CBS, BBC, etc, it's as if there is a conspiracy of psychological warfare among news channels.  You are bombarded with sad, sad news.

One wonders whether human existence is now one dark night of tragedy, killings, economic turmoil and religious brigandage.  Mere criminal who are hiding behind a very porous mask of religiosity are given free air time every time. Analysts invest more time on the warped thinking of these minions of darkness with their senseless killings by following the analysis template laid down by these outlaws. What clearly should be elucidated as a cancerous growth on the body of humanity is rationalized in endless talk shows, sometimes in esoteric language, blocking popular understanding.

International criminals who should be analyzed as mental cases are praised in psychology jargon as religious zealots.

This is the tragedy of modern man. Evil is moving apace from a minority, to overwhelm the majority, and the majority simply fold their arms and rationalize what has no reason to exist. It is rather like a doctor explaining to a cancer patient why the cancer cells should be tolerated, and their human rights ( or cell rights) should be respected. The truth in this analogy of course is that cancerous cells are no longer cells that they should be, and therefore lose any rights accrual to the cells they used to be.

Cancerous cells of the lung for instance are no longer lung cells. They may resemble lung cells, yes, since they started out being lung cells. But when they metastasize into cancer cells, they can no longer be correctly called lung cells. Consequently, it would be wrong to accord the same treatment given non cancerous lung cells to the monstrosity that lung cells that choose to be cancerous have become.

In same manner,  there are qualities associated with human beings, which has can not be extended ad infinitum.  Once a part of humanity displays such extreme behavior that is far away from what we usually associate with the human species, we should be bold enough to recognize the possible evolution of a malignant strain of what we know as humanity, and name appropriately,  this new strain. But then such new strain can not expect to be treated in exactly the same way  as the main strain from which it has exercised it's free will to strain away.

Public discourse are dictated by fringe groups. People who should be counseled have seized the public space, and have come round to accuse the sane majority of bias, and prejudice. To be politically correct, no one dare confront this filth. Thus we are simply rolling around inside a deep pit, where the fringe minority (who properly should be designated as an evolutionary curiosity and should be so treated), are having fun, while the majority are suffering in silence.

This should change.

For instance, those who make extreme choices should be rejcognized as starting a new subspecies of humanity and should be so treated, not to accede to their presumptuous demand to be regarded as a part of existing especially,  and then go further to impose their newly acquired evolutionary characteristics  on all.

same sex marriage for instance is likely to put a tidy end to humanity as we know it.  Such a strain of character, while evolutionarily possible, and perhaps permissible, is not sustainable. It is not a positive attribute of the species that can  r r courage,  much less allowed to become the mainstream.

Today, mankind has allowed himself to be duped into mainstreaming the thought that anyone opposing anything, no matter how evil that thing may be, is some kind of nut, intolerant, and conservative.  Thus. The few who do not want to take responsibility for their sexual recklessness advocate loudly, abortion, calling it pro choice.  (A more ironic name can hardly be found:, for where is the choice of the Human being whose dream of experiencing incarnate life is thus cut short by abortion without consultation?).

Those who allowed their imagination master them to engage in what is clearly unnatural tendencies tricked the rest of us by calling it alternative love, and browbeat the rest of us into submission.  Anyone opposing same sex interactions is now called a prude and intolerant. Now, the highest court in the supposedly most civilized country in the world has now redefined marriage such that it can mean a number of things, or relationship; not just the one we used to know as a union between a man and a woman.

What is more, the government of the Western world now feel compelled to deploy all their powers to spread this gospel (?) Of evil around the world, using threats of economic cruelty.

What are we coming to? Where will humanity end up? Will things ever stop on this downward slope? Surely , our sad story of past millenia, full as it is of wars, pestilences,  wanton killings by the empire builders, both ancient ( like Alexander,  Julius Caesar), and modern (Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin), inhuman cruelty and selfishness that peaked in the Atlantic slave trade, followed by violent colonization,  neo colonialism etc... is this all mankind has to offer with all his intelligence?

I should think not. We can do better. The sentient being that can put a man on the moon  can do better. The intelligent being that can defy gravity and  fly man and beast in ever more sophisticated airplanes can do better. The creature that created the computer can do better.

How? We must return to our roots. What are we? A breathing physical machine,  or a spirit being using a physical body? From the researches done and published in books like Life after life, Life after Death, Life beyond Life, etc, the evidence seem overwhelming that we are more than our physical structure.

To reach our true potential therefore, we must think like the executive creatures that we are, and not a mere mistake of evolution condemned to come into existence, blunder around the planet for a few million years and then disappear from the scene like the dinosaurs. We have a more glorious purpose than the evolutionary creatures that gave rise to our physical vehicle.

We must find our original  purpose, and live it. We are beings of virtue and love who should transform our planet into a place of joy with love in all our actions.  Unlike what is thought today, concepts have meanings, and meanings that are NOT subject to change by definition of anyone. Same sex unions, just as an example, is NOT marriage, it has nothing to do with marriage as a concept. What the US Supreme Court should have done for instance should have been to give same sex unions an entirely new name, created solely for this new kind of experience, and also define it's limits and functions. But not to debase the meaning of an existing word by twisting it's meaning to now include a new concept.

Very sad way of doing things. If same sex unions have been given an entirely new name, as it should, then, the US National Assembly would then set to work creating a set of rules that would guide the people engaged in it among themselves, as they should relate to others, and what rights they can enjoy from the government.  To forcibly subsume a strange practice under an existing legitimate  practice smacks of forgery, and intellectual fraud. If you create a new kind of experience, you must give it a new name, not look around for which concept to steal and debase. It's a form of identity theft!

Man must wake up, and claim his heritage, and sieze his thinking, and therefore his actions from the presently vocal and oppressive minority.
